Highly recommended, powerful motor, easy to use and it works!
This is a superb gadget which does exactly what it says, without any effort.I choose this one because it has 4 batteries, and the motor runs at 6 volts. I have another which has only 2 batteries - so the less powerful motor runs at 3 volts. The Gourmetmaxx 06689 with 4 batteries is much more powerful and works much better. I strongly recommend this model rather than the 2 battery version. It is so simple to use. Just rest it on the lid of the can - no need to carefully align it - it does that by itself when you press the button. Then just watch it rotate around the can - and its done. Easy! It works with a ring-pull can too - just turn the can upside down. The cut edge really is not sharp at all - amazingly it cuts through the welded topmost edge of the can and leave a completely safe edge. And cutting on the side edge of the can means you don't need to worry about dirt on the lid contaminating the food. There is a magnet to hold the lid, but it doesn't seem very strong. However that is so minor as to not worry about. It is quite large so you'll need some decent drawer space. But its worth it, for ease of use and just to watch it work!

Very impressive, the old opener is destined for the bin!
I am very pleasantly impressed with this can opener. It trundles around the can at the press of a button and without any further assistance by yourself, only requiring another press of the button to stop the mechanism. The lid comes away intact, thanks to it's magnet and amazingly it manages to cut the lid off such that the can remains rigid, all contents contained and no drips. Furthermore the lid and the can are rendered blunt by this miracle opener and there are no lethal sharp edges left. I wipe it down after use but also it seems to achieve all of the above without getting unduly dirty! My husband swore that he wouldn't use this new toy, being of the old school and scoffing it. But I have caught him grinning with fascination as he watches it doing it's rounds! So all in all a very nifty invention that I am glad to recommend to fellow Amazon customers.

COMPLETE RUBBISH
We don't use many products out of tin cans but when we do we like to make life easy.We had hopes of an easy way of opening cans and it opened 4 tins with ease but the serrated wheel that is supposed to grip the edge of the tin wore out quickly and the opener no longer rotates.I would certainly NOT recommend this for a "so called" professional opener it is worse that the cheapest can opener that we had way back in the 1950s.RUBBISH!!

Certainly Not a "Universal" Tin-opener
Handy device BUT it only operates on tins where the top and the sides are at 90 degrees to each other. If the tin has sloping/tapering sides then the blade cannot contact the sides to cut. Fortunately old-fashioned "turn-the-wheel manually tin-openers" will still cope - but of course are hard work

5 minute wonder
This product was delivered to my daughter on April 30th, it is now Mat 22nd and it has broken already, used half a dozen times. Just will not attach itself to the tin so just sits there going round and round doing nothing at all.

Although I was initially very pleased with the way this opener worked so effortlessly
Although I was initially very pleased with the way this opener worked so effortlessly, unfortunately I only used it about three times and it stopped working. It makes a noise when I use it and doesn't move at all. I have changed the battery but this did not resolve the issue. I have tried it on various tins but the problem still persists. I am really disappointed and feel that this was a complete waste of my time and money.

Easy way to open cans - just touch and go
Initially this product operated exactly as advertised - just out on top of the can, press the button and wait until it has completed one revolution. This item stopped working after a year or so, much less time than a similar opener we had lasted.
