Good Quality, Durable, Good Conforming Fit, But Chamois is a BIt Too Thick
In general, I prefer wool shorts because the material is beefier than synthetic, and while it fits snugly against the skin, the pressure seems even throughout. These shorts satisfy those wants, although the wool (blend) is not as beefy as wool shorts used to be. I have tried other contemporary wool shorts and they gave out after just a few rides, whereas these seem to hold up very well (I've put a thousand miles on each of a couple of pair that I bought this summer). The seat panel is synthetic, and I presume wears better against the saddle. So far there are no signs of wear on the shorts at all.The chamois which comes with these shorts is much thicker than I like, and holds moisture more than the chamois I prefer. However, for most riders, my guess is they'll think this a relatively thin pad, compared to what's out there. The pad is sewn in so well that to replace it with a chamois of your choice would most likely damage the shorts.

I am an avid cyclist and previously only purchased top of the line bib cycling shorts costing over $300.00 per pair. On long cycling events being constricted by bib shorts can not only become uncomfortable; but make it difficult to use facilities when needed. I've been trying to convert to half shorts and once again went for the top of the line shorts. It didn't work and caused me to drop out of a 10 day cycling tour because the shorts continually slipped down causing chaffing. I am a fan of Ibex and tried these shorts on a few rides and am now a convert. The pad isn't as fancy but they will work on a hundred mile ride if your seat is well fit for your anatomy. For comfort these are unbeatable. They go on, stay in place, breath yet somehow keep me warm. All the way around these are a great plus for cyclists. The waist-band, leg openings and overall fit seem to work in tandem. At this point I can't say enough about these cycling shorts. Yes, I'd like to see them use a high-end pad. I have heard of people having a new pad sewn in but these are so great I'd like to avoid that. Understand you only notice the pad on longer rides. On 20 or 30 mile rides, no problem. It's the longer 60 mile plus rides where the pad becomes an issue. Yesterday on a hundred mile ride They did pretty well and they are my new go to cycling shorts. I bought four pair. Oh, not sure how well they hold up in the dryer. I normally air dry wool clothes but tried using the dryer for about three months on one pair and noticed pilling on the pad. It doesn't take much on a cycling pad to cause an issue. I have thrown out the dryer ones and am sticking with air drying them.I hope this helps.

Wool is still the best for cycling shorts.
I don't often ride with actual cycling shorts, but when I have more than 2 hours to ride I always use these. They are cool enough for summertime with great breath ability, and with some knee warmer fine for weather down to the 40's. The padding keeps you comfortable and chaffing to a minimum, I wash them on cold hand wash cycle and air dry them using mild outdoor gear soap (various brands). They come out like new, I like them so much I bought another pair. Ibex makes quality gear, I also have a wool hoody I love.

Very nice shorts however
I'm 5-6 and 175 lbs and wear a large. I think the large was meant for a taller person so the legs come to the middle of my knees but no big deal. For years I wore Kucharik which are 100% wool and a lot looser. These are snug fitting like regular riding shorts. That's ok it was time for a change anyway. Quality is outstanding. I'll wear shorts for years so these just may be my last pair.

Loved the Knickers so much, I had to buy these.
I purchased the Ibex knickers a few months back and absolutely love them. The weather got warmer and I didn't want to put on my old shorts so I had to get these.I've been a long time Ibex fan but these were the first time I have tried any of their cycling products. I like how the wool breaths, but is warm at the same time. I like that these fit like typical cycling shorts do, but they don't seem as tight or Euro Trash as a proper kit.

Very High Quality, from the workmanship to very comfortable fabric. The looks on how it wears is classic with total elegance. Recommended, definitely top shelf, 100% American made. Excellent outdoor clothing I will be more shorts, and more styles of their sporty tops. Thank you Ibex.

Much More Comfortable
These shorts are way more comfortable and better looking than synthetics as far as I'm concerned. Well made and they fit me perfectly. 6', 165#, size M. The wool really does breathe much better. I've ordered more Ibex kit.

Very comfortable. I purchased primarily for wool's odor resistance
My first cycling shorts. Very comfortable. I purchased primarily for wool's odor resistance. I commute to work a few times a week. I can wash these on the weekend and wear a few times during the week without them building up a funk.
