This is an excellent guide. The coverage is quite detailed, and the listings are authentic and comprehensive. Recommendations illustrate a real working knowledge of the city. The author is dedicated to, and familiar with, his subject. Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's prime tourist traps, and travelers know it primarily as an outdoor destination. This book proves that the city and its surrounding communities can be an interesting cultural destination as well. The layout of the book is familiar Moon format, but the overall quality of its construction has improved. There are many different devices that serve the interests of a wide range of travelers. There's a lot of color content. Historical, cultural, and practical contexts are all complete and are excellent. Maps are simple and accurate. There's much more detail here than you're likely to encounter in a Puerto Vallarta chapter in a larger country guide. I always enjoy using a good travel guide to discover things I might not otherwise have found while traveling. This is such a book. I found its coverage of the little mountain towns of San Sebastian, Mascota and Talpa to be particularly useful for further exploration of these fascinating, off-the-beaten-track places.

Great book to travel with while in PV and surrounding. been using it daily in addition to the electronic devises. Good descriptions of sites, nice recommendation and solid advise. I like the small useful dictionary at the end and background about the culture, history, fauna. Also we'll organized Total worth the cost and much more

I bought this book for my first trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was a useful reference guide. In the US I am now used to finding all the info I need on my smartphone, but I was glad that I had a reference guide which did not rely on having an internet connection. I found the maps and information very useful.

A very good companion while traveling through the Puerto Vallarta area in Mexico. We referred to this book several times during our trip.

I haven't been to Puerto Vallarta yet so I cannot compare the guide's recommendations to the reality on the ground, but I certainly was able to build up a vivid picture of the holiday location and its surrounds, sufficient to plan a trip with reasonable confidence, and that was the main reason for buying the book. The authors seem knowledgable and enthusiastic about their subject. Recommended.

We are heading to Mexico in a few days and are very glad we purchased this fine guide. It covers the area thoroughly. We feel confident that we will see more sights with the detailed maps and descriptions of the many different activities available.

Very good book. Followed many of the highlighted recommendations, some of them were off the beaten path such as the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, Yalapa and some towns to the north. Felt like I got a greater sense of PV and its highlights.

Always comes in handy when travelling.

A definite must read before you go and it will be helpful to you. I would recommend it to anyone.

So far I have only scanned the headlines,since Iam not visiting until early 2016 I have many cold nights to get into its content,so far it looks good.

Great book. Tells you everything you need to know about the area from someone that actually lives there. Used it extensively to plan my days to the beach, shopping and site seeing. Highly recommended.
