Great for steaming milk.
When I bought my espresso setup, I already had a beverage thermometer from Sur La Table. I found myself wishing the face of the dial was a little larger and more informative as to where my temperature was, essentially it had a "not there yet" section, a "ready" section and a "too hot" section. Fast-forward, I purchased a few Rattleware items and felt like they were great add-ons to my home coffee bar. So I bought this thermometer as a replacement. The dial has all the markings of my previous, but it also has the temperature marks across the face. Its the perfect size, I can see my milk froth and take a quick glance at where I'm at temp-wise. The calibration is super easy, you either calibrate the hot or the cold end of the spectrum. I did the hot, then tested the cold and it landed in the right spot! The tool is simple, just a quick rotate with the wrench and you are set. The clip that holds the thermometer to the pitcher is nice. I grips the thermometer very tightly, you have to squeeze the top 2 metal pieces together to twist or remove the thermometer from the clip. But the clip is not so tight on the pitcher, for example, if you had the thermometer attached to the pitcher and turned it upside down, the thermometer might fall off. But for me that's ok, I keep my thumb on the clip at all times.

Works great!
This thermometer is just right for my 20 oz ss frothing pitcher. The clip holds securely, the dial is just the right size, it's accurate and it's easy to calibrate with the included tool. I like the green area on the dial. When the needle hits the beginning of the green area (150 degrees), I shut off the steam and let it coast to 160. Always the perfect temperature and have never burned it yet; cleanup is easy. I highly recommend this thermometer.

Nice gauge
This is the best dial I've seen for steaming milk for latte/cappucino. It's big and easy to read, with convenient markings for freezing, boiling, and for appropriate milk temperature. The included calibration "tool" is a nice touch but was unnecessary in my case...the thermometer was reading the correct temperature without adjustment out of the box. The only drawback for me is the way the thermometer clips on to the jug. The dial and probe can get in the way of the steam wand, particularly with smaller jugs. It works well with a 20 oz straight-sided jug, but my 12 oz Espro is a challenge due to the way the jug tapers in at the top. Clipping the thermometer to the spout rather than the sidewall helps (regardless of which jug is used) This is my 2nd S10 (I have one at work and one at home).

easy to loose calibration
The quality is good but it does have an issue. The calibration tool is totally unnecessary. The clip that comes with it to hang the thermometer in the pitcher its very tight to the probe, and at the same time, the dial against the probe is NOT very tight at all, so by holding the dial with one hand and with the other the clip, the needle just moves very very easy, and way to easy to dis-calibrate it without noticing that you did it. Just taking the probe cover off when you are ready to use it, would be enough to dis-calibrate it if you are not careful while doing so. Other than that issue, (actually a pretty bad problem) the thermometer performs as expected.

Easy to Read and Accurate
I love the large face and the green and red markers so you know exactly how hot the milk your frothing is. It comes with a very long clip which grabs the pitcher easily and stays in place. So far, about a month, it's remained accurate so I haven't had to recalibrate it but I suspect that following the instructions will work. Rattleware makes good products for espresso and related uses. One thing to be aware of is that the reading continues to escalate for one or two seconds after you've removed the pitcher of milk from the steam. Compensate for this and stop a second sooner. I guess if it were 101% perfect, the instant read would be a little better but I'm quite happy.

Nice Thermometer, Even includes the Calibration Key
Great, quick to respond thermometer. Attaches easily to my 20oz milk frothing pitcher. I like that it has colored sections on the dial that tells you when you are in the "zone" or the danger zone when frothing milk. Nice feature for a novice at making coffee drinks. Quality seems very good, and seems to be very accurate and quick to respond to temperature changes. Nice professional item at a great value.

Used to be great thermometers, now awful !
I won a coffeehouse and have used these thermometers for well over 10 years, straight. They used to be amazing, solid, and reliable thermometers. Since about 2016-ish, they have been plagued by terrible quality/production issues. My last batch of 10 that I bought broke very quickly. Some 'spun' on the calibration nut, some just stopped registering temp, some had the needle spin or fall off, but they almost ALL broke within just a few weeks of using them. I used to love the Rattleware 5" thermometer but I'm now looking for a quality thermo that won't break within weeks of using it. Shame on Rattleware for putting out such a poor quality thermometer the last few years!

Durable and Accurate
I mainly used for monitoring milk temperature during steaming/frothing. Calibration was quick/easy and instructions/tools were very straightforward. The dial is large and easy to read and the clip holds the thermometer where I want it on the pitcher. Not sure what more I can ask for.
