Great book to introduce you to the thought and vision of Pope Francis. The readings are short - usually just a paragraph. Each day also includes short meditations from the author/editor - great for beginners in prayer or for those who want to go deeper. I bought this for my family to read each evening together during our prayer as a family and look forward to being challenged by this pope to grow deeper in my relationship with God and more selfless in my service to others.

Kevin Cotter has compiled a daily dose of Francis' thoughts and teachings, and coupled each day's reading with a short, insightful reflection. These are candid, to the point, profound messages that will challenge and inspire you. (Just what you might expect from Pope Francis!)

A thought provoking and positive reflection to begin each day. Passages are short enough to be revisited several times a day, and each day's reflection takes the reader on their own personal encounter with faith. The reflections are clearly presented and often challenge the reader to look within. The accompanying questions are somewhat helpful, but the real treasures are the words and thoughts of Pope Francis. Enjoy!

Our new Pope is so wonderful and his decision to bring the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi to the head of the Catholic church really joins us together as the universal church. St Francis is not just the patron Saint of Animals, he lead a humble, simple life, giving up riches and seeking Gods will. He is the greatest example of a Christian and Pope Francis has the same wisdom, which is reflected in this book. Everyone from all faiths would gain insight from this book.

"Through the Year with Pope Francis: Daily Reflections" was the daily reader I chose for 2024. A nice way to start with a very short one page reflection each morning with a cup of coffee or wrap up a busy day with gratitude.

Of course we read the words of the Pope to be inspired, and I found this format a great way to access Pope Francis' thread of thought. To read one small statement and reflect on it each day is a powerful challenge. In an information saturated world, it is a book of simple, clear, consistent, thought.

These daily devotions do make you 'think' about the various spiritual subjects addressed. I find them very inspirational. It also allows you to see the spiritual heart of Pope Francis. I am glad I purchased it. All pros. (The only con I see is its binding. I handle it with 'kid gloves' so to speak but it is still breaking apart. But don't let that stop you from buying it.) His insights are truly jewels. I would recommend this daily devotional to everyone.
