The classic Straight fit Stretch. Our 514 Straight fit Stretch Jeans sit low on the waist and are generous through the seat and thigh with a Straight fit Stretch leg. Best for athletic to medium builds. Never too snug or too baggy, Levi's universal slim fit features one of our lowest rises and a straight leg that is close through the seat and thigh. Levi's 514 slim straight jean is slender through the seat and thigh for that modern fit. Review: My new favorite jeans - I have always worn Levi's 501 jeans and they have suited my needs just fine. But I also always had a bit of a belly and needed the waist level fit. So for a very long time I have been a 40x32. Well I have lost a lot of weight and slimmed down and the waist level did not fit me well anymore. So much research I did and over and over I read that the 514 jeans were most people's go to jeans. I gave them a try and I am in love with them!! Honestly the material is softer than the 501s and the fit is much more fashionable. I am now a 36x32 and these jeans add not only style but great comfort. They fit nicely to my body without being too snug and I am able to effortlessly move around as I need. There is a very slight stretch to the fabric but I am not so sure I would actually call it "stretch" rather than a less rigid material then the heaver 501s. The below the waist fit is so comfortable to wear and the fit in the rear and crotch is great. These jeans look fantastic for a very casual look all the up to a dressier look that I often wear with a nicer shirt and some colored flannel running shoes. For me the l501s were just basic jeans and not very fashionable. The opposite here. I love these jeans. I must say that if you have an excessive belly or gut these do indeed sit below the waist so you need to decide what you are comfortable with. I will not take a star off for this but I did buy 2 pair of the exact same 514 jeans and found one pair fit great while the other was a little too snug. I have learned to do this whenever ordering Levi's now. You can have pairs of the exact same jean, exact same size and the fit will differ. But do what you need to to get the right fit and it will be well worth it. Now I am honestly so happy to just get up and toss on my jeans and know I will look good and be very comfortable. Now I will only wear the 514s! Review: Hole formed in around the back pockets after only 3 weeks. - I liked these jeans and the way they looked on me. They felt good and fit good but after only a few weeks a hole started to form around the back pockets. Another week later and the hole was large enough to be noticeable to someone standing behind me. After that I came on here to try to return them since they're obviously defective/poor quality but by that time I was too late. NO RETURNS. UPDATE: I took the jeans to have the holes stitched up, cost $10. I wore them for a few more weeks and holes started to form in the crotch and pockets. While a good design, the quality of the stitching could not be any worse. You're spending $40 on some worthless rags. Don't buy them.

International sizes beware
Beware if your from Australia and interested in slim straight Levis. I buy Slim straights at home in the same size but different colours and thats pretty much all i buy cause Levis are the best jeans. I thought i would take advantage of the hugely discounted prices on Amazon $40 instead of $150 in Aus stores. Beware slim straight in the US is freaking enourmous the waist fits fine but the bottoms of these jeans have a flare on them bigger than my parents wore in the 70's. If you want slim straight maybe try ordering skinny style instead. Service by Amazon was quick though and i got them in a couple of days and they are actualy nice looking Levis im just annoyed that they are way to long and loose.

Great value, stylish color and fit
I bought the "tumbled rigid" color 514 after seeing them featured on PutThisOn, and they're great. For ~$30, you get a pair of jeans that look as good as some raw denim jeans that run $100 or more. I'll admit that they don't have the fabric weight or body of a $200 pair of raw denim jeans (hence minus one star) but that's forgivable at this price point - one of my traditional complaints about Levi's, JCrew and other budget jeans is that I tend to wear through them in a year or less, right as they're really getting broken in. I suspect these will be the same - they'll never wear down to the aged beauty of a heavier pair of raw denim jeans - but for $30, they're a great addition to anyone's wardrobe. Be aware that these are really only appropriate if you're on the thinner side (but you don't need to be a waif.) I'm about 6'4", 190 lbs and if the thigh on the jeans was much smaller, I might not be able to wear these. These are not going to be good jeans for you if you have a lot of leg muscle, or a gut. But if you don't have those issues, they're a great pair of "dressy" jeans that are also perfect for work if you're in an office that allows jeans.

Very inconsistent fit and durability (among 4 pairs currently owned)
This review follows the purchase of my fourth Levis 514s, a pair in 32x30 Rigid Grey. Between them, they've demonstrated vastly different fits and levels of durability with just one pair being about right. These latest jeans aren't bad but the legs seem to be the baggiest of the bunch and maybe a touch longer. And though I haven't actually measured them, it could just be the stiffer fabric that makes them seem that way. One of my first pairs had both knees wear thin and rip, while another's legs are a touch short. The final, and my favorite jeans, fit just right and are one of the lighter weight (though darker blue-black) fabrics in the line. A final, fifth pair I donated when I realized I'd ordered the wrong waist size, 31 vs. 32. Since it was only one inch too small and had already worn and washed them a few times, I thought I'd try to live with it and see if they'd break in and loosen but they never did. (Not my brightest moment, admittedly.) Those happened to be a dark indigo in a heavier fabric, a combination I found I didn't care for anyhow... Despite the inconsistency, these jeans overall have the best fit for me so I'll probably try at least another pair to see if I can find some like the best set.

Excellent Jeans. The fit is great and I've found ...
Excellent Jeans. The fit is great and I've found they wash and wear better than premium denim jeans costing five times as much, which are supposed to be better because they're "Made in Los Angeles." Made in Los Angeles does not justify the ridiculous price compared to these.

Good Bye Levi :(
Levi's denim jeans have been worn by my family since they were first made; before I was born, and I'm old. Regarding 514 slim jeans: I ordered 6 different-colored pairs to get a good idea of quality, fit etc. Verdict: Sub-par and not what I USED to expect from Levi jeans. Each 'color' fits differently; all are thin, flimsy, only 5 belt-loops, built-in wrinkles, hanging threads, dirty-looking so-called 'stylish colors'... In the distant past we've enjoyed 505, 501, Silver Tab slim, 512 slim, and others ... all denim. First they discontinued the 7-belt-loop standard, pants fall under the belt and look tacky and feel uncomfortable with only 5-belt-loops. Then they discontinued the Silver Tab slim. We still stayed. Then they discontinued the 512 slim (why?). Last straw was the HORRIBLE 514 slim. Hands down the 514 slim is the worst and broke my bond with Levi. Levi is different now ... not Levi-ish anymore ... it is a totally alien jean. Well, nothing lasts forever. I see this 514 jean as another step toward the demise of a once-quality civilization rapidly declining into a mire of shoddy workmanship, high prices, and out-sourced ... everything. I just ordered 6 pair of Wrangler, cowboy slim, 7 belt-looped, rigid, dark-indigo (and other colors), denim jeans. I'm going to have withdrawal accepting the Wrangler plastic patch! I'll rate Wrangler after I receive them and my husband tries them. They are reviewed as the old Levi's once were! There's always hope? Good-bye Levi; I'll miss your once-sweet, red tabbed, 7 belt-looped, leather-patched, durable, indigo, denim jeans. Move over, you're about to be Wrangled!

Go buy in a brick and mortar store to avoid headache.
I ordered a pair of Levi's 514 in black. Mind you I've been wearing this style and color for a number of years. The first pair arrived on time and fit great...except the left leg was noticeably an inch shorter. Then I returned the item and got a second pair in exchange...which were so baggy and long that I had to double check the size. The sizing label was correct but this pair was very long and wide so I exchanged the item again for a third time. Low and behold this pair is even worse. At this point I am so aggravated with the experience that I am never going to purchase apparel online again. I bought the pair I needed from the Levi's Outlet and they fit as they should even though the size and style are supposedly the same... To add injury to insult, a customer service rep contacted me after I returned the second pair and I was told that I was bumped up to free one day shipping for the third pair. The jeans arrived three days later...
