Gunnars vs Gamma Rays *Gunnars
I purchased these as a Christmas gift for my 16 year old son. They were on his Christmas list, I waited to write my review because I wanted to see what he really thought of them and make sure it wasn't a status purchase. From homework or games, has been wearing them everyday while on the computer.I purchased a pair of Gamma Rays for myself so I could compare. There is a softer feel when looking through the Gunnars that help your eyes not feel strained. I honestly thought a yellow lens would be a yellow lens. The Gamma Rays do help but the experience of eye relaxation wasn't as strong. This is a case of getting what you pay for. Like most reviews, I can confirm the smudges. So an investment in good cleaning clothes and case is not a bad idea. We have the Gunnar case and for the price/quality, I will recommend it too.

The glasses themselves are completely wonderful. Can't see them falling apart over time since there are no screws or strings involved, only metal joints that were fitted together during construction. Results are immediate; as soon as they're on you'll notice how much easier on the eyes everything around you is. Take em off, wow that white is harsh, put em on... ahhhh... so much better!I don't appreciate how glasses affect my vision. To be specific, the rim of the glasses appears on the bottom 1/3 of my vision. I feel like I either I just have to stop using 1/3 of my vision or be upset... or maybe I could some aviator style ones (doubt it). Gah, how do you glasses wearers do this! omg!

I think for some people it'd be alright, for me, it was just awful
I hate ever giving lower than 3 stars, and because of the sharp looking'ness of these glasses, I will keep it at three. But besides that, at least for ME, it was just awful.I am front of computers, LCD/LED screens, a lot throughout the day, then as well as evenings some nights when I want to play some PS3. After having LASIk a few years ago, I thought it'd probably be safe to get some decent glasses to protect my eye from strain, as well as prevent the headaches that sometimes come when looking at a screen for too long. So I got these. At first, they were great, I loved the color contrast they provided, and it did seem to soften the light a bit to focus better. But after only maybe three uses, I started getting just terrible headaches. All around the back region of my head, which surprisingly as you all know is the OCCIPITAL region, lol. Not to get all nerdy and medical, pretty much my eyes were taking the information seen through the glasses and make it harder and straining more, thus worsening headaches.I tried to keep using them, thinking it was just a coincidence, maybe there's an adjustment period. But after continued use, it just got worse and worse, and I had to stop using them and return them.I can't say these are garbage, and won't give it a 1, because maybe for some it will work out, who knows, maybe it has something to do with LASIK people, I dunno. And also, the glasses themselves are decent looking and quality, so can't knock em entirely. In the end, think I will have to pass on these and look some more.

Initially skeptical, but pleasantly suprised
I was a bit skeptical on these glasses as I have gamed for a good number of years without the need for special glasses. But, I can say that these seem to be doing something for my eyes. Bear with me, I am an engineer, so I probably look a little too far into certain things.First of all, I pulled a few multi-hour game sessions before these came in (I can't sleep well these days, so I game until I get tired). My eyes were blurry, sore and tired the next mornings. Received the gunnars and pulled a few more sessions of the same length with the glasses on (Mass Effect trilogy both sample sets). I went to bed not scratching at my eyes, my head felt less tense and I woke up still tired but with clear vision.I used them for coding for a while, the color didn't bother me (I know they have clear ones for graphic design which I recommended to my brother). I noticed the small magnification helped alleviate my eyes from having to focus so hard and I could pull longer sessions. I also used them at work while typing my reports and so on with the same results. I recommended them to my coworkers as well.My only gripe, and this is the one star, is that they aren't very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The ear pieces were pretty sharp on my ears. I am pretty particular on glasses, so this may just be me, but I did notice every time I wore them. They are very light and do feel flimsy, but they are also well made, if that makes sense.Give them a try at least, I figured, 'what the heck' and was pleasantly surprised.

Save your money, brand isn't everything.
Lenses were too small to give good coverage and there was noticeable distortion when wearing them. As these are Gunnars, I was downright shocked by how poorly they performed. A MUCH less expensive pair of another brand purchased in the same time frame yielded far better results. They don't even come close to living up to the hype. Save your money, brand isn't everything. I do use computer and gaming glasses and they can make a remarkable difference in eye strain, fatigue, and headaches. Unfortunately, this particular pair of glasses just wasn't worth the price and sits on a shelf unused.

DOES NOT WORK!
Do not buy these glases, they do not work. They even made my eyes worse. When I played games without them, i felt nothing, but my parents wanted to protect my eyes so they bought this. When i wear these when gaming, my eyes get teary and uncomfortable.I repeat, do not but these! VERY VERY disappointed. :(
