Baking Powder 1Pack (60 ounce ) same purposes

This is a 5+ star baking powder, stores nicely, flip up lid, you can fit a spoon in and out easily ... but you are getting robbed by ordering it here. You are literally paying six times the price here verses the supermarket. I love Amazon, I've been a Prime member for at least 4 years, if not longer. I now LOVE this baking powder, but get yourself to a supermarket. I am so embarrassed for paying to have this delivered. When you see it in the supermarket you will smack yourself in the head.

Through the years, I loved to bake homemade biscuits and shortcakes. To make these properly, it takes quite a bit of baking powder. The problem I encountered was that they ALWAYS ended up with a bitter aftertaste, no matter how much sugar I added. Come to find out (40 years later), the culprit was my go-to supermarket baking powder. I'd always grab the one that was most available.... usually the most inexpensive one (ok... always the one that was the cheapest). To be fair, I think most people do this and are none the wiser.A few months ago I was looking through different baking blogs. Low and behold, I was fed a small bit of information that lit up that lightbulb above my head. The reason my biscuits had that bitter taste is because of the aluminum in most baking powders. I suffered all these years (in silence), and all I needed was to use a better ingredient (isn't it always that way?). By using this aluminum free product, my baked goods have been 100% better with no bitterness, minus an ingredient that's really not good to ingest. The biscuits have also beenUpon receiving my container of baking powder, I checked the use-by date. The date was well past one year. This is important because if your baking powder isn't fresh, you'll end up with flat, hockey puck type biscuits and other baked goods. Right away, I grabbed my phone and put a reminder on my calendar, about a month before the expiration date, so I'll know to reorder this. I'd hate to be caught off guard, where all my efforts to make a great meal would be spoiled.Lastly, the lid from this baking powder comes in handy. It has just enough room to allow a tablespoon measure. Then, there's a leveler so you know you're getting the exact amount your recipe calls for.

I always try to buy the aluminum free baking powder and have used Argo many times in the past. I did not realize that my baked goods would turn out so much fluffier if I use fresh powder!! I really like that the lid has a leveling edge for your measuring spoons also. I will be purchasing this again.

The item received is not as the item shown / ordered. The one received doesn’t state aluminum free except with a sticker applied over writing on the container. Not a factory label but something I could print and stick on myself. Would be returning this item since it was not as shown or stated if that was an option. But it isn’t an option so at least it wasn’t a major purchase. Still not crazy about just throwing away $5.00. Really Really dislike being misled. Has made me rethink a number of purchases since.

I have learned that baking powder only works when fresh. Only keep any container tightly sealed and no longer than a year

This baking powder was rated as the best by America's Test Kitchen and it doesn't disappoint. I am very pleased with the product and can't get it at any of the grocery stores around me.

I am 89 years old; Argo Products have been with my Family all of my life. My Parents used it, my GrandParents used it, and my PlayMates Families used. Quality ferries the Products into and throughout the future. I have not opened and used any of this purchase yet, but it's past satisfactions are my assurance that I made a splendid purchase.Respectfully,KSH

First day I got the product I thought was very small for price but worth every penny . made vegan cornbread w almond milk and flax ground seed . came out very fluffy and rises very well ! And most important no after taste from the baking powder. And no aluminum !
