Seville Classics Flexible Cutting Mats with Food Icons, Set of 7

We love this cutting board and were thrilled to find that Seville still makes the replacement cutting mats for it. (We bought several sets so we can continue using this into the distant future even if they stop making them.)We have been using our cutting board/mats for six or seven years now and just recently decided to replace them because they were getting pretty cut up. We cut on them all the time for everything from veggies from our large garden to meat for the BBQ to fruits and veggies for canning. We have plenty of other cutting boards but none look as nice or are as useful. It is very nice to be able to dirty up a mat, toss it in the sink, and grab another mat from within the cutting board without ever having to move the cutting board or open one of the cupboards. We often are in the kitchen for a project (like making pickles) and will go through four or five of these at one time. It's very nice because there is no reason to be lazy and leave out a dirty cutting board, which you will inevitably cut on later. Clean up is easy too because once finished you simply toss the mat in the sink and pull a clean one for the next time you need it.A scant few reviews talk about them warping and them not being thick enough.1) They can tend to have a slight bow in them on the horizontal axis lifting up the middle of the side/surface with the little picture on it. But this is actually fine because it still stays on the board because the cut-out is deep enough.2) If you put a lot of heat on them they will definitely warp, but only temporarily. As soon as you wash and dry them them they go back to normal. But all of our plastic cutting boards warm if too much heat is put on them so this is no surprise.3) These are plenty thick. Sure, they are just mats so they are nothing like a full size cutting board when it comes to thickness but as mentioned we have been abusing ours regularly for 6+ years and have never cut through them even though we have been using both sides. We use them all the time and use very sharp knives (I sharpen them regularly.) Maybe if you used a serrated blade regularly you could start to see cut-throughs but that would only be if you didn't know how to use the knife. (When using a serrated blade to cut something like bread you only put pressure down when cutting the bread. As soon as you get to the cutting board you don't use much pressure to break through the bottom of the bread so even there you shouldn't be abusing the board too much.) I guess it is possible to cut these up pretty bad if you are using a cleaver regularly but if that is your intention I'd recommend a big heavy wooden cutting board like professional chefs use. You don't want anything small or easily moved by regular slamming.We also like how viabriant the colors are. They give a nice splash of color to the kitchen and do not fade over time.

These mats are light, strong, easy to keep clean, and very convenient to use. I'm probably going to discard all my older, bulkier cutting boards because these are a lot easier to live with. I was doubtful about trying something so different from what I'm used to (was afraid the knife would slice through to my counter), but I'm very glad I did.

These are pretty cool. I bought this replacement set because I thought the block was overkill. Without the block, these slide around pretty badly. They get scratched up, but whatever. It's better than having countertops damaged. They look nice are seem well made. I suppose having the large variety of mats to use makes it useful for people with allergies. I went ahead and bought the set with the block. Works great. I kept the new set of mats that came with the block as a replacement set. So I did it bass ackwards.

I love these cutting mats! I moved into my apartment last week and was making dinner. My mom liked them so much that she practically begged me to order her a set! For cutting mats, they are pretty thick which makes me think that they we last quite a while. I also like how there are different ones for different foods in order to limit contamination. Definitely worth the price!

I LIKE these... handy and specialized for any cutting needs. Durable, cleans easily, very 'space effective' and COLORFUL - I LOVE color!

Well, they're not expensive, and are nice enough, but probably won't stay that way for long. I like the size and the price, and that they are flexible for pouring. But I chop veggies pretty much every day and after just a couple of weeks of regular use the most-used green mat is pretty thoroughly gouged up. So, for me, these are basically turning into a short-term disposable item. Not what I was looking for.

Already have the board, thought I was ordering only the mats....instead received the board, which I don't need, and a set of mats. Product description did not say that the board was included. Product listing needs updated?

nice that the mats are replaceable. I do feel that they scratch too easily.

got these for my wife,she's not using them now because she wanted a spare set of them to replace actual ones when they will need to be replaced ... she's happy with them ...so i'm happy too <;-)

Gracias a los comentarios me dio cuenta que eran sólo los repuestos plásticos de una tabla que compré hace unos años en Costco. Para mí el producto tiene 5 estrellas porque mi tabla está perfecta, pero todos los plásticos para cortar estaban deshechos. El tamaño es el indicado.Necesitan cambiar la descripción a que son repuestos plásticos, no la tabla para que los que los compren no se sientan engañados.

Yes the cutting board do get scratch's in quickly but at 12$ for 7board you can't expect the world. At this price the value is very good. I will buy another set when they are worn.

If your knife isn't too sharp they will last a year, with a quality knife you'll cut right through them.

Needs to be as easy to buy these replacements in Canada as it is to buy the set with the board. They work well, and are identical to the ones that come with the board, but the seller is being anti-consumer in restricting these "refills".
