Beautiful piece!
So far, I love the looks of this! It was very easy to assemble (I am less than 5 ft tall and weigh 110 lbs and completed the assembly by myself in about 1.5 hours, with about 15 minutes of that time unpacking the pieces and laying everything out. The box arrived with several large gashes so I was a bit worried that there would be damage to the pieces inside but everything was packed so well that this was not an issue. This arrives as 2 boxes - on for the wooden part and a smaller one with the furnace insert. The wooden part is about 70 lbs and the insert is about 35 lbs.The cherry finish has more of a red look than the picture shows. I love the look of it but didn't think ahead of time that we were planning to use this against a "wine" colored wall. The cherry finish did not look nice against that wall! For this reason, I wish I'd ordered the black finish but was not going to tear everything apart and return it. We decided to keep our existing TV stand since it matched the wall better and had more space for the gaming gear for the kids. We moved this against a gray wall and I LOVE the look! I have not yet tested the heater feature. We have this in our basement and are hoping it will heat the 500 sq ft area well enough that the kids don't get cold in the winter while playing video games. As we get closer to using it, I will update my review.

Love my fireplace!
This is a beautiful addition to my living room. I have it under my television, and I don't really use the heat feature. The heat feature works well, but I just like the ambient effect. The flame is adjustable and not distracting. Works on a remote, so I can sit and watch tv and adjust the flame. Makes my living room feel cozy. Considering buying another one for my dining room. The shelves are triangular and don't hold much, but they are the perfect showcase place for my Willow statues. No more than two pieces of audio/visual technology will fit in the compartment above the heat component. It came in two boxes, so they were reasonably manageable to move around. Put it together all by myself rather quickly, and it did not require any Herculean feats of strength to do so. One of the boxes was a lot heavier than the other, and the carrier just dumped them on my front porch while I was at work. That was my only complaint. Pretty ivory color. It is not white. It is cream. I have this unit flush against a straight wall. The corner conversion piece is hinged to the back of the unit and is retractable, so you can attach it for later movement to a corner if you are initially keeping it along a straight wall. I removed the corner conversion board because it was difficult to feed my technology wires through the hole in the back of the unit while the corner converter was attached. The conversion piece is a little flimsy. Overall, the unit is pretty solid.

Incredible cheap construction, horrible paint job, but the concept was good
Purchased this in ivory color. It’s more white, not creamy at all, with some odd dirty gray distressed coloring on the edges. You can see faux brush strokes in the paint, in an attempt to make it look more vintage, maybe? Just a truly cheap attempt to make it look distressed. Stickers to cover the cam locks. Bottom is poplar, front top trim is poplar, but the rest is MDF. Seams in the doors and on the base and top, don’t butt together, big gaps wherever it is pieced together. It is sturdy once together, but I will always know how low quality it is. The first one the base was cracked, product support did a fabulous job of replacing and having the defective one picked up. Because I liked the style so much for my small French country living room, I kept it, and my husband is currently repainting in a true creamy ivory. Crazy right. I saw this (same company) for almost twice as much on some furniture store sites, I bet the people that pay $650 -$750 for this are going to be pretty upset (the most expensive versions have the touch screen or smart fireplace).. the unit itself will still be pretty cheaply made. I really wanted to love this, but I am very disappointed in the materials and construction.

Warm, toasty, and elegant
This product is everything I wanted. We have a converted attic bedroom with very little insulation, and the heat downstairs does not reach it. This looks like a fireplace nestled between two glass cabinets, it holds our 42" TV on top, and it fits right into a corner of the room near our bed to keep us toasty all night. Our attic is big (pretty much the length of the entire house), and it does not heat all the way to the far side of it, but it warms the room-sized portion nearest it all night. Once you set it to a certain temperature, it will turn itself on and off automatically to maintain the temperature (we use 68 most nights, up to 72 on really cold nights). The blowers are not as powerful as I would have expected, but they still do the job I need it to do. The wood looks very nice next to our hard wood floors, and the fireplace has adjustable brightness for the flames and the logs (5 settings). The logs don't turn off completely when the heat is on, so that you remember it is on, but the flames can be turned off. I was very hesitant to pay this much money for something that might have been junk, but I'm so glad we did. The warmth is worth the high cost. It took us about 3 hours to put it together, all told. It wasn't difficult or frustrating, just a lot of parts to put in the right places.
